Why Madras-university.in?

Every year lakhs of students seek admissions in the University of Madras. Every prospective student has a customised query relevant to his/her scenario, education background, marks, interests and location. The University of Madras tries it's best to answer all these admission queries with the help of voluntary students/ admission booths/ telephone based helplines etc. But despite these efforts, hundereds of thousands of students are not able to find relevant information resulting in waste of resources, injustice to the deserving and loss to the country.

This year onwards, we - students of Madras University have decided to implement the most comprehensive online helpline for all prospective students of Madras University. This helpline will remove any obscurity that a potential student faces before taking admission in any of MU's colleges.

Admission steps/ courses/ colleges will be mentioned clearly and every cut off list will be uploaded the very hour it is released. We want to implement a system that will allow users to register with their marks, email addresses, choice of courses, colleges and with every cut off list, eligible students will be automatically emailed details of colleges where they're eligible. Forms will be available online and if we're able to convince the university authorities, we may even take online payments through your credit cards/ debit cards / online banking accounts.
